Description

Stylus with one end pointed, the other end flattened.

Notes

Alan Cole
This is a rather unusual Roman stylus inasmuch as it is made of silver. Unusual, because when erasing characters for the wax tablet, the erasing flat end is heated in a flame, which could melt the silver as well as the wax. Verified by the British Museum. Ex. Astarte Gallery.
