Notes

Alan Cole
A 'unicorn' seal in steatite (soapstone), which is inscribed with the mainly unread script that is only found on such seals. Animal is a bull, as they were considered to be the strongest animals. Device beneath the head is either a feeding trough or possibly a magical symbol. It is called a 'unicorn' seal because the bull's horns are in line with each other so it appears that there is only one horn. Around 2000 BC produced by the Harappan people from Mohendjodaro.
