Etruscan civilization is the modern name given to a civilization of ancient Italy in the area corresponding roughly to Tuscany, western Umbria, and northern Lazio. Knowledge of the Etruscan language is still far from complete. The Etruscans are believed to have spoken a non-Indo-European language; the majority consensus is that Etruscan is related only to a language family, which in itself is unrelated directly to other known language groups. The Etruscans wrote from right to left, another unique trait in Western scripts, other than possibly boustrophedon.
The only Etruscan object in the collection is the elegant dish with the owner's name written on it. I have tried for years to get other items, but they were always outside my limited budget.
